Tainan City is located in southern Taiwan. It is a historical and cultural hub with a variety of attractions from ancient temples and historic sites to bustling night markets and unique art galleries.

Tainan is Taiwan’s oldest city. The city’s history dates back to the early 17th century. Established by the Dutch in 1624 as Fort Zeelandia, the city became a focal point for trade and cultural exchange. The city’s architecture reflects its diverse heritage and historic structures from various ruling dynasties. It also once served as the political capital for the Qing dynasty.

ATTRACTIONS IN TAINAN

BEST TIME OF YEAR TO VISIT TAINAN

The best time of the year to visit Tainan is from October through April. These months offer the perfect combination of comfortable temperature, lower humidity and few rainy days. Tainan coastal city is geographically close to the Tropic of Cancer and is blessed with tropical weather year round. Daily temperatures are at 20C (70F) with the monsoon rains coming in between May to September.
